In Denmark, about 70% of fathers take advantage of paternity leave. Here the patterns of parental leave are among the most generous in the world. Nowadays Danish legislation grants fathers 2 weeks of parental leave following the birth of the child. After that, both parents have a right to 32 weeks each of leave. Paid parental leave was extended to 52 weeks.
