Custodians of Beauty
Rome, Italy, March 15th, 2018. The open restoration site was set up by the Istuituto Superiore per la Conservazione ed il Restauro of Rome inside the former church of Santa Marta al Collegio Romano. Laura D’Agostino, Art historian introduces to the students from a second year class from the Liceo Artistico di Via Sarandì of Rome the different process of restoration taking place in the site. The project was conceived to give the public the possibility of participating in the life of a restoration site and increase the awareness of non-specialist visitors of the importance of conservation in our artistic heritage. Opened in 2017, the site will be active for the whole 2018.
Conservazione ed il Restauro di Roma all’interno dell’ex Chiesa di Santa Marta al Collegio Romano. Laura D’Agostino, Storico dell’arte, spiega agli allievi di una classe al secondo anno del Liceo Artistico di Via Sarandì di Roma gli interventi di restauro in corso nel cantiere. Concepito per rendere il pubblico partecipe alla vita di un cantiere di restauro e accrescere sempre di più nel visitatore (cittadini, studenti, turisti) la consapevolezza dell’importanza della conservazione del nostro patrimonio artistico il laboratorio aperto al pubblico Santa Marta è stato inaugurato nel 2017 e sarà aperto per tutto il 2018.
