Matera, Italy, January 18, 2019. Scuola di Alta Formazione e Studio Matera SAF. Laboratory of Stone Materials and Derivatives. The model comes from the Museo della Civilità Romana (Rome), It was created for the Augustean Exhibition of Romanity, which opened in 1938 at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome. The exhibition was the main event for the celebration of the two thousandth anniversary of the birth of Augustus. The model was in a poor condition, covered by a discontinuous, thick layer of deposit, concealing its original aspect, it also presented numerous breakages and deficiencies. The students performed dry dusting over the entire surface to remove the deposit, then the fragments were recomposed and glued, reconstructing the missing parts. Finally, the stuccoing and chromatic balancing were carried out.

Il modello proviene dal Museo della Civiltà Romana (Roma). Fu formato per la Mostra Augustea della Romanità, aperta nel 1938 al Palazzo delle Esposizioni a Roma. La mostra doveva costituire l'evento principale per la celebrazione del bimillenario della nascita di Augusto.
Il modello si presentava in un cattivo stato di conservazione, ricoperto da uno spesso strato di deposito incoerente, e presentava rotture e mancanze.
Gli allievi hanno eseguito su spolveratura a secco su tutta la superficie per rimuovere il desposito incoerente, successivamente sono stati ricomposti e incollati i frammenti, ricostruendo le parti mancanti. Infine si è effettuata la pulitura stuccatura e riequilibratura cromatica.
